Mmmm....pesto. I love garlicky pesto with tomato and balsamic vinegar on crunchy crackers. The mix of textures and flavours really does something to me.

I recently started growing some herbs and decided the basil needed a haircut. Well that was my excuse for making pesto. A bit fake but there ya go.

As the case, I didn't take a photo but this one below is similar.

Basil Pesto

1 bunch fresh basil.
3 cloves garlic
1/3 cup pinenuts
1 heaped tablespoon savoury/nutritional yeast
freshly ground pepper
olive oil

Place all ingredients in a food processor adding just enough oil to help the machine blend everything together. Add salt and pepper to taste. I ended up adding about half a teaspoon of salt.
